(goldfrost) holds1. This video demonstrates two holds: the cup hold and the knuckle (fist) hold. To start the cup hold, begin in the flat palm up position. Curl the fingers under the ball starting with the pinky letting the other fingers follow. Curl until a fist is formed as if you're carrying a coffee cup. The ball should rest on the top of the cup hold. From here impart a vertical impulse to the ball and then rotate the fist until the arm is vertical to the ground. To stop the ball on top of the fist you'll need to time it so that the fists up and down motion coincides with the balls up and down motion. Also, it might be helpful to practice holding the ball on top of the knuckles before doing this technique so you get used to balancing the ball. From here you can extend the fingers out and roll the ball back into the palm.
