The orbital isolation, as far as I know, is the easiest to learn. It involves a two-ball palm spin, where one of the balls is held as still as possible spatially.

To learn it, do it as slow as possible, always concentrating on the ball you want to stay still. When the ball moves down, move your hand up to compensate. If the ball mves left, move the hand right, etc.

Once you have learned in one direction, try in the other. Personally, I find anti-clockwise in the right hand to be the easiest.

A more difficult trick, which this is good practice for, is a one-ball isolation.

I believed I\'d invented this move myself, but was told by a fellow contact juggler that he\'d seen someone do it at a local convention, then I found that Michael Moschen used it in his own routine.

I came about this trick by accident, I was first learning the different variations to a two-ball palmspin, and I just started rotating my hand the same direction that the balls were spinning, then i noticed that one of the balls remained within 3 inches while the other one started to go around it in bigger and bigger circles, then i just made vertical "o"s with my hand making sure that i was moving my hand around the ball that i wanted to stay still Chillin' In Christ, Kevin aka Leon

I find it very helpful to look at a point(such as the corner of a book) and try to keep the isolated ball as close to that point as possible.

this is one of the coolest, yet easiest tricks I've ever seen. Also looks good if you do a three ball, sort of figure of eight pattern keeping one ball in one hand, and two in the other, but the non-isoltaed ball does the figure of eight in and out of each hand.
