kverens: When you have learned the three ball palm-spin, try putting a small ball on top of three larger ones (a pool ball on top of your usual balls, for example). You have to be careful to keep the three base balls together, or the top ball will fall. You will find that to get the balance right, the balls should be weighted towards your little finger, so it feels like the pyramid is actually tilted in that way (it is just a tactile illusion, though).
klas: With acrylics there is no problem to to have the three bottoms balls touch each other. With balls that tend to stick togheter you will have to do as chicken says. Leave a some space between the balls. With sticky balls (I am using oddballs) it is much easier with four balls than with three. The top ball helps to keep the space between the balls in the bottom by pressing down.
