kverens: To start, you hold one ball in the cradle, and another in the same hand, in a thumb-hold. Simply let go of the thumb-held ball and pull the hand back so the cradle ball is almost freefalling. Grab that ball in a thumbhold, and prepare the hand to cradle the other ball, which you catch in the other hand and toss back to the original hand's cradle.
joha: Instead of just dropping the ball on top down to the thumbhold, you could do a butterfly type move, but then it takes a little longer.
