Rotator Cuff Stretch by Ferret
date created: 2002-04-11The pictures of my stretching ability are a goal to shoot for!
I have been doing this for Years! On a regular basis.
Do NOT try to duplicate my level of flexibility unless you know you can.
Please, be careful!!!
Now for the tough ones. I'm going to let the pictures be the guide.
Rotary Cuff stretches are
Paramount in C.J.
Most of your tricks rely on your shoulders! A 'ball and socket' joint that can
impart a huge variation of movement.
The ability to move your shoulder in as many ways as possible will allow you to execute a large variety of tricks in different planes. Imparting a Great
visual to your audience, especially when 'working in the round,' when you are surrounded by
your audience on all sides. It will also allow you to save a blown or 'thrown' move with enough
fluidity to make it look, as if you meant to do that, even though it was a mistake. Keeping your
shoulders limber will also allow for longer practice sessions, and when the ball goes flying over
you head, right at your wife's or mother's favorite vase and you try to save it, and we both know
you will try, having a set of well stretched shoulders will help, not only in keeping you out of the
Doctor's office, stupidly trying to explain how you caused this injury. But you may in fact save
that vase! Once Again! The pictures of my stretching ability are a goal to shoot for! I have been
doing this for Years! On a regular basis. Do NOT try to duplicate my level of flexibility unless
you know you can. Listen and feel, what your body says it can and cannot do. Work towards it
slowly. Like anything else, it takes time and persistence, but temper that persistence with
common sense and intelligence. The long term benefits are many. And Not just in contact
juggling. Please, be careful!!!
