Hello agian!
So I just bought two 3" acrylics to make a total of three. And I'm kinda confused. I know that there is palmspinning touching and not touching, and I can do touching, and decently do non-touching. But is it realistic to do non-touching iso's and tricks that deal with palmspinning? Like is that the norm that most cjers do?

Do you mean a non-touching 3b palmspin? such a thing is possible, there's a video on the site somewhere. However it is significantly more difficult than the touching palmspin. It does look amazing though:

Oops, I mean 2b things. Like the pentagon shape, or cross. I've seen vids but I cant tell if their balls are touching are not.

OK fair enough, I would say practice everything non-touching. Iso and antispin looks best like this I reckon, and things like the 3b palmspin cascade & 3b orbit isolation look best non-touching _________________ Now all gatherymost to amuse it and have a tilty elbow or a nice cuffle-oteedee - Oh Yes!

As is always the way with things like this, learn both where possible. A 3 ball palmspin is difficult without the balls touching, I've been trying to learn it on and off for ages now.
Watch videos of multiball wherever possible (I believe a certain DVD released recently has some rather good stuff in that vein) and see what style you like. |

OK, Thanks!
I just suddenly had an oppiphany of the hand, and I can now to non-touching tricks fairly well, gotta love that!
Also, I noticed in vids that most people do palmspins while gripping(kinda) the balls, while the person that got me into CJ had his hand VERY flat. It looked like the balls were just moving on his hand. It was cool, and they weren't touching. Is that the norm, or is that just plain fancy-ness?

I'm close to the 3 ball no touching palm spin. I'll have it in a year or 2
A nice flat hand that looks very still is nice technique. it looks weird with little as possible hand movement, bals look like they just glide around seemingly on their own. It has good illusion merits _________________ With practice, Contact juggling is as good as a Ungody Sphereplay nose fight inside a post box |

Hey- I got a question about palmspins...
Can one successfully do a single ball palmspins (for a decent ammount of time) with out having practiced multiple ball spins?
Rahmid- what's your experience? (or anyone's for that matter??) I mean, I feel like I too need to purchase another acrylic (or two) to make any progress with my palmspins... _________________ ~love n' light~ |

Jenn*fer, do you mean the palm circle isolation? If so then yes, I just started practising it because it was and probably still is, my favourite part of contact juggling. I had the basics of the palmspin long before I invested in acrylic #2.
There's more than enough advice floating around here regarding it, but the isolation essay should be the first place you check out. _________________ Now all gatherymost to amuse it and have a tilty elbow or a nice cuffle-oteedee - Oh Yes!

my experience? Like 3-4 months, maybe.
I kinda have a single iso plamspin. It's not good and not controlled. But i know i didn't have it down AT ALL until i get my second ball and started palmspinning constantly for like 2 weeks.
Good luck

When the balls aren't touching, the pattern looks bigger.
bigger = easier to see.
easier to see = eye catching.
eye catching = good.
good = well you get the idea...
I had an ok palm circle before practicing multiball. just takes a bit of practice, and carefull thought on slowing yourself down and smoothing it out. _________________ With practice, You too could be like Ryan Mellors... |

i can do (but still crappy) a one ball palm isolation a bit , and i didn't practice palmspinning with more balls before ... but today i started practicing with 3 balls (and two) and it seems to me that if you practice with 2 balls, indeed the 1 ball isolation would be ''easier'' to feel and learn ...
and i really thought 3 ball palmspinning would be easier :p damn _________________ ____________________
