LCD
I havent paid attn to every post but I believe the movie you are refering to is called "Breakin'" here in the states.
The one with Turbo an' Ozone, right?
There is a part two as well.
The broom dance always was the coolest.
And then maybe dancing on the ceiling _________________ The difference between ignorance and apathy; I dont know and I dont care

Yeah, the broom dance never really got me. But the dancing on the ceiling/walls was great!

cuhhhhhhh, then I guess you never will.
Maybe you had to be there.
Maybe if that scene was the first ever time you saw anyone moving like that, then you'd know..
The whole reason I dance like I do and move like I do is because of a combination of Turbo and the broom, and Arbie the Robot. Bless 'em.
And yes, it's the film now known as *ick* Breakin'. And the sequel, that I can't even bring myself to name, was just hideous, in my opinion.
We need a Turbo/broom smiley.
Well, I need one anyway. _________________ Sausages and plants and goldfish |

I totally remember when they came out...I was'nt being disrespectful,LCD.
I was just talkin' 'bout it.
I did'nt think either one was a cinamatic masterpiece but there were some good scenes in both.
Ice T looked sooo silly.
Anyways, I would like to see both again...its been at least 10-15 yrs.
Have you seen "The Freshest Kids", by any chance?
If not, look out for it if you like all kinds a b boyin' footage.
It will inspire you to get it on the good foot as soon as you see it. _________________ The difference between ignorance and apathy; I dont know and I dont care

sorry to break up your wonderful conversation about cinematic masterpeices from the 80s, but i got a decent isolation...the iso isnt in in relation to your hand as the vertical one, nor is it quite so slick, ok, it kinda lame, but here goes
you just hold the broom horizontally and can dance around it....if you know the mime wall push, you can do that, actually you can do that both horizontally and vertically. _________________ Clowning is the most intricate, innovative, relatable dance. |

I just bought two brooms from homebase!
Massive natural wood ones. Plastic handles, but if you unscrew the angled plastic attachment to the wooden broom head, they have predrilled vertical holes! RESULT! wooooooooooooooooooo, I'm gonna learn fei-cha!
errr, I suppose this doesn't relate to turbo and the ... except in the obvious way.
Anybody know any other isolations that you can do with a stick? The 'playing the pink oboe' one and a horizontal two handed one that doesn't look half as hot are all I know. |

he does one isolation. the pink oboe one, a lot.
I suppose you could count the spinning around and moving the hands up and down the staff thing as one. I still don't quite understand it, as I don't have a staff short enough to do it with. I don't think. Or at least, I don't have a staff with a blank end.
well actually it's not isolation at all. Maybe isolation of the hands at different times... it's certainly weird.
I was actually looking for other isolations / mime hand movement weird things. |
