Hi
I was talking to Dimitri in Liverpool and he gave me a training tip:-
Hold 2 balls in your hand
Isolate one and spin the other around it without it touching the
isolated ball
Does the isolated ball stay exactly in the one spot or are you allowed to move it around a bit as the other ball 'rolls' around it?
Perhaps I misunderstood what he was telling me
Can anybody help or point me at some advice?
Any help will be appreciated

TJ

Yep, the ball should stay in the exact same spot..

Getting this ball isolated properly makes this move very special, but if the iso'd ball is moving around it can look just like a standard two ball palmspin.

This move (one ball circles an isolated ball) is really good to learn a one ball iso. The fingers and hand keep making the same movement when you take out the orbiting ball.

Interesting idea, but only have larger balls so can it still work with the balls touching or is this not a good idea. mainly for trying to get the 1 ball iso down.

mine touch. i learned 1 ball iso's before this though, just by holding a sphere in my hand and making little circles, then getting bigger. The james ernest book describes this way. a friend of mine who just started but has awesome 1 ball iso's in both hands learned with a 2.5", then when he jumped to a 3.5" they were completely stationary... he said it felt like cheating it was so easy after the small ones. Also, I found mine were better isolated if I didn't look at the sphere(s) but looked at the ground past them, I could use the reference to keep it more stationary.

very true we see movement better with our periferal vision, so its easier to learn isolations when your not looking directly at them. if the balls touch its not really a problem it just looks nicer if they dont but the main point is the isolation

the main reason I don't do my 2 ball palm spins separated is because... um... I can't yet.
