Hi all,

Well, a couple of months ago I happened accross some contact Juggling and from the moment I saw it I was hooked,
Didnt really do anything about it though,
Now I'm practicing with a bacci ball lol. but it works.
Really can't do anything yet.
Just teaching myself to control the ball and keep it from jumping.
My wife is buying me a sphereset with a video for Christmas (can't wait)
I'm in NYC and taught myself how to juggle and do Devil Sticks back in the early 90's, LOL hope I'm not too old now to learn CJ.

Anyhow, can't wait for the creative freedom that will come with practice and practice and practice and practice.
Anyways, I hope I can keep myself focused enough to not give up and eventually have something worthwhile to contribute to these boards.
Looking forward from learning from you all and eventualy sharing.
-Esen

Welcome! Hopefully you won't have the same problem with your spouse as I do...

"Look what I can do!" And then the ball flies off and hits him...I don't know why, it never flies another direction, just always at him.

Dirty balls,
Bacci Balls are large balls, about the size of a soft ball but heavier.
They are typicly plastic with lines grooved into them. (not really Ideal for CJ)
Bacciball is an old italian game, where you have a smaller ball thrown and then you have to try and get your bacci balls closer to it then your opponents.
In a wierd way it is a lot like horse shoes.
I would say a cross between horseshoes and shuffle board.

I started with bacci balls, I've never seen any with lines or grooves in them. I still use mine sometimes especially if I'm practicing over surfaces I don't want to drop my good ones on. They're about 3.5", but a little lighter than an acrylic. The only marks on mine (other than those earned from playing bacci outside in the lawn) is the manufacturer's logo, about an inch square impression in the surface. They don't have the look of a good acrylic, but they'll get the job done. I'm not sure what kind of bacci's you have, Esen, if they've got grooves in them... but yeah, that sounds like not quite ideal. I think I read that you got your set from the Sphereplay tent at a nyc ren faire, what size did you get? They're some cool people. I haven't got to meet Michael or Jennifaerie in person yet, just over the phone and internet, but looking forward to someday. They've got nice stuff, I play their multisphere video in my store daily. Shifty's part is insane...

Bacci balls are fine to work with. I have used them before.

And welcome.
