The biggest trend in c.j. these days seems to be liquid moves, pop n' lock, etc, if the new videos are any indication. My problem is I kind of suck at that kind of thing. If anyone has any useful advice about liquid, or can post any footage of the individual fundamentals I'd appreciate it. I've looked into waving a fair bit and its mostly isolation. That and its also a dance. Those 2 are really cool things I like in my contact. check the isolation chamber for the thread "more dance links" I posted a waving tutorial by morax from reflective forums in there. Its something atleast.
liquid and contact could look so dope, but I haven't quite got close to getting liquid totally working. |

Moonwalking is really helpful in emphasising your pops and waves.
They stop them being wierd arm and body movements and start becoming energy forces that are pushing and pulling you around without you being able to stop them. Kind of as if you are submerged in the sea and the currents are dragging you against your will.
And buy a very big mirror..
I'll see if I can get some video stuff together but I'm super busy until early feb. _________________ Sausages and plants and goldfish |

Here is the fundamental:
It is all about isolation. A beautifully isolated ball has a special kind of magic. Learn proper ball isolations and you can understand why they are amazing. Then make your body do the same.

Speaking of isolations.....
umm...i dont know if i really "get it" ... i mean i get it...but not really....
blah blah...you have all heard this before...
one thing, when i mess around practicing ( if you can call it that ) with isolations, they always seem from my perspective that they dont look like they should...
Now is that because of the point of view, my perspective, or just the fact i have more of a grasp of what is going on than the average spectator?
Just curious if any of you guys have come across any of these issues or any combination of them... _________________

Are we talking ball isolations here, or body isolations, whilst popping? _________________ With practice, You too could be like Ryan Mellors... |
