I remember when I watched the show I was very excited! Then they ruined the lovely acrylic sphere by putting globe designs all over it! I agree with Nagini. <img src="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" border="0" /><br />

I have a crystal ball with a pentagram inside. it was awesome for all of five minutes, then the novelty wore off.<br />

i think that suspending something inside a ball make the effect of a floating bubble disappear...<br />
<br />
even when there's a little scratch on it that effect disappear,<br />
<br />
but i've never tried to CJ with a ball that has something inside, so that's just my opinionhttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44420#44420naginiThu Nov 08, 2025 7:03 pmhttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44420#44420Re: So I was watching the Discovery Channel...

It was cool. I have been trying for some time now to find someone that would be able to suspend a rose into a 4 in acrylic sphere. But each try so far the rose was not able to hold up to the heat and pressure. (thats what they said)<br />
<br />
And now I know why.http://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44399#44399SaulieThu Nov 08, 2025 2:01 pmhttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44399#44399Re: So I was watching the Discovery Channel...

A few months back, I sent in the idea for them to cover it. I wonder if that was why they did it? Nah... probably not. <img src="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Very Happy" border="0" /><br />

And I didn't even get to see the episode.http://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44396#44396ThornThu Nov 08, 2025 12:09 pmhttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44396#44396Re: So I was watching the Discovery Channel...

I had ripped that acrylic section onto my PC. its 50meg iirc, I would upload it again, but am on dial up, I did upload it before so perhaps someone else still has it and would re-up it if there is enough interest.<br />
<br />
i don't think it showed extrusion though. iirc that is how the rods EL uses to cut balls are madehttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44356#44356ColinWed Nov 07, 2025 10:39 pmhttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44356#44356So I was watching the Discovery Channel...

And that show "how it's made" came on! They showed the acrylic ballmaking process, which I thought was rather cool.http://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44348#44348RoyalWed Nov 07, 2025 8:34 pmhttp://contactjuggling.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.html?p=44348#44348
