nothing wrong with yours, Ryan, but Drew's link not only shows it, but also how to do it.

everyone's pretty much cleared up what an isolation is. the most common ones (that i've seen) are the Enigma and the Palm Circle Isolation. palm circle iso is when it looks like your hand is moving under te ball while the ball sits in space. i think the trick to that is either counteracting the ball's movements when doing a normal 1 ball palmspin, or getting it to spin on the Z-axis. anyone who can actually do it can explain it better than I. and don't worry, you don't sound stupid. you sound smart. you asked when you were unsure. stupid people don't ask, and either make up their own answer or don't bother with it at all. kinda like a certain Texan and social security...

So is the "air" transfer at the top of it done more with the finger tips flexing and sort of "tossing" the ball, or is it more moving the entire figure slightly in a circle to throw some momentem? It sorta looks like I slight combination of both from the clip, but I always end up exaggerating atleast one of them to the point it doesn't look that good.

Say, If you keep going there
what with the circles in all.
you can easily do two or three rotations and it still looks cool.
i have taken to not swapping my arms and simply making circles with my hands,
ball on top - ball on bottom, circle circle.
bah. its tough to explain without a camera.
try it though!

I reckon it is so very possible, but you need a solid one ball chest roll first.

You would need to know where to hold your position exactly for the minimum effort to roll the ball. ie the ball would just appear to roll around on it's own. then I think it would be feasible to do.

I call this the One-Winged Butterfly. Another variation of this is the Limping Butterfly, ie tipping the ball right back onto the other hand's palm, on the same side it started, so it's "knocked" back down and never makes the other side of the arc at all, all while the hands smoothly cross in front of each other like a regular b-fly pass. It's like the ball's hitting a wall halfway through the arc and bouncing back down. Excellent ball motion vs hand motion contrast.

I learned this pass at first while keeping my arms still...looked neat but not as fluid and smooth. Just a hint to those learning: The liquid-esque look is achieved by pulling your arms the opposite way the ball is going, like pulling the rug out from under it, rather than giving it momentum with your hands like the traditional version. This "pull" can be exaggerated to the point where your hands are up along sides the ball with your elbows as high as eye level. Looks neat, like a big ribbon shoe-shining the ball.

A neat variation on this is to alternate the flurry from palms to the tops of the hands and back to palms. It creats a ruffled yet symmetrical spinning of the hands around the isoed ball. It actually looks neat bobbing up and down a little bit, like those water fountains.
